Existing Industries: Overview

Douglasville recognizes that existing industry is the fuel that powers a community’s economic engine.  All too often the important contributions existing businesses make to the local economy through job creation, capital investments, community involvement and leadership are overshadowed by the announcements of new industry moving into the community. While it’s important to attract and diversify our business community through the recruitment of new industry, Douglasville believes it’s equally important to support and recognize those companies already in the city.

The Douglasville Development Authority administers the Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) program for the City of Douglasville. The purpose of the BR&E program is to determine what the needs are of local industry and develop solutions that can enhance their operations. The BR&E program is designed to assist Douglasville companies in the following areas:

  • Building Expansion and New Construction
  • Business Plans
  • Financing
  • Identification of City Issues
  • Local, State and Federal Incentives
  • Permits
  • Site Selection
  • Workforce Development
  • Zoning
